SPECIAL EXCEPTION
AREA BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
Notice is hereby given that The Nature Conservancy, Daniel J. Shaver have filed with the Area Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of the Brown, Indiana, an application for variation in the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance, to wit:
Legal description of premises: 24.576 ACRE DESCRIPTION: Part of the East half of the Northeast Quarter of Section18, Township 8 North, Range 2 East of the Second Principal Meridian, Washington Township, Brown County, Indiana described as follows: Commencing at the Northeast corner of the East half of the Northeast quarter of said section 18; thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes West on and along the East line of said East half, Northeast quarter 335.0 feet; Thence North 90 degrees 00 minutes West parallel with the North line of said East half, Northeast quarter 157.0 feet to the beginning, Thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes West parallel with the East line of said East half, Northeast Quarter 1685.0 feet; Thence South 25 degrees 20 minutes West 445.0 feet more or less to the center of Davis Creek County Road; Thence the following three (3) courses are with the center of said county road; North 60 degrees 00 minutes West 80.0 feet, North 80 degrees 00 minutes West 170.0 feet and South 88 degrees 49 minutes 32 seconds West 112.92 feet more or less to a point 697.0 feet West of the East line of said East half, Northeast quarter; Thence North 00 degrees 00 minutes East parallel with said East line 2020.0 feet more or less to a point 335.0 feet South of the North line of said East half, Northeast quarter; Thence South 90 degrees 00 minutes East parallel with said North line 540.0 feet to the beginning, containing 24.576 acres more or less. Subject to Davis Creek County Road. Also, subject to all other legal rights of way and easements existing or of record affecting said real estate.
Applicant is requesting a Special Exception to have an office and summer lodging at a former Girl Scout camp. The property is located at 4523 TC Steele Road in Washington Township. The file on the matter is available for public inspection during the regular working hours at the Brown County Area Plan Commission office in the County Office Building, Nashville, Indiana, until two days prior to the hearing date. A public hearing will be held by the Board on May 25, 2011, during a meeting commencing at 6:00 p.m. All interested persons will be given the opportunity to be heard in reference to the matters set out in the application. The notice is being published to notify persons affected by this application by order of the Area Board of Zoning Appeals. Written comments regarding the petition, which are filed with the secretary of the Area Plan Commission before the hearing, will be considered. The hearing may be continued from time to time. The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room of the County Office Building, Nashville, Indiana.
