ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE PARKING SCHEDULE AND NASHVILLE PARKING ORDINANCE

TOWN OF NASHVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2011-2 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE PARKING SCHEDULE AND NASHVILLE PARKING ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the town council that there exists a potential for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic congestion on Washington Street, between Van Buren Street and Schoolhouse Lane caused by long term parking; WHEREAS, the town council desires to alleviate the potential for said congestion and to better service the merchants located along Washington Street; and WHEREAS, the town council is aware that limiting parking along both sides of Washington Street to periods of two hours or less will improve the flow of both vehicles and pedestrian traffic for the businesses on Washington Street. IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED that the parking schedule which appears on page 27 of the Nashville Code of Ordinances be amended to designate a two (2) hour parking zone on both the north and south side of Washington Street between Van Buren Street and Schoolhouse Lane, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday. The thirty minute parking zone established between a point 30 feet east of Van Buren Street and Old School Way is hereby repealed. That this Ordinance shall become effective upon passage and posting of appropriate signage. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Nashville Town Council this 17th day of March, 2011.
