Aging and Community Services of South Central Indiana, Inc. will accept requests for Older Americans Act Title III-B proposal packages until 5 pm, Friday, April 1, 2011 for Title III-B services for the elderly and persons with disabilities in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, and Jennings Counties.  County allocations, detailed in the proposal information, are based on a formula that involves county population and poverty levels.  All Title III-B applicants are required to present preliminary proposals in person to their respective County Council on Aging prior to submission of the final application to Aging and Community Services.  The proposal presentations will take place at the respective County Council on Aging meeting scheduled during mid-April to early-May.  (Refer to Aging and Community Services website for meeting date for each county.)  Following the County Council on Aging review, final proposals are due in the central office of Aging and Community Services no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, May 16, 2011.  The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration expects to make available no more than $1,033,326 of Title III, Title V, and Title VII of the Older Americans Act funds and $242,515 of Social Services Block Grant funds for local projects throughout the state of Indiana.  Funds for contracts to providers of access, in-home, community, and legal services will be for the contract year July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012.  Applicants for Title III-B funds may download general information, county allocations, proposal package (application), schedules and locations of Council on Aging meetings from the agency website: http://www.agingandcommunityservices.org"www.agingandcommunityservices.org.  Technical assistance meetings will be held upon request in each county prior to the Council on Aging meetings.  For further information, contact Cheryl Kenyon, Public Services Director, Aging and Community Services of South Central Indiana, Inc., 1531 13th Street, Suite G900, Columbus, Indiana, 47201, (812) 372-6918 or toll free (866) 644-6407.
