The Brown County Board of Commissioners is seeking letters of interest from citizens of Brown County who are interested in being appointed by the Commissioners to fill Three (3) vacancies which have occurred on The Brown County Fire Protection District Board of Fire Trustees.  The Trustees must be qualified by knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and related activities in the district.  To be eligible for appointment an individual must also not be at the time of appointment a person who: (1) Is a party to a contract with the district or (2) a member, an employee, a director, or a shareholder of any corporation or association that has a contract with the district.  The Commissioners will appoint one (1) trustee from each of 3 townships:  Jackson, Hamblen and Van Buren.  (2) The term of office will be for Four (4) years and will expire on the first Monday of January of the year their appointments expire.  (3)

Interested persons should be prepared to attend regular meetings as scheduled by the board, which shall meet at least once in the months of January, April, July and October.  The board may schedule meetings with greater frequency.  The Board of Commissioners may order that regular meetings be held more frequently.  Special meetings may also be called.  (4) Interested persons should submit letter of interest, which shall include a description of the person's knowledge and experience in matter pertaining to fire protection and related activities and which shall identify his or her township of residence to the office of the Brown County Auditor by mail to P.O. Box 37, Nashville, IN.  47448 or in person at the Auditor's Office located in the County Office Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville, IN.  47448.  (5) Letters of interest must be received no later than February 14, 2011 at 4:00 P.M.
