NASHVILLE — A 13-year-old murder suspect’s hearing to determine whether the boy should be waived to adult court has been postponed.
Blade Reed was scheduled to have the waiver hearing today in Brown Circuit Court, but attorneys asked the judge for a continuance.
Reed is accused as an accomplice in the attempted robbery and murder of Richard “Dude” Voland, 84, of Helmsburg, and the attempted murder of Voland’s wife, Mary, 77.
Authorities suspect Reed and his 17-year-old brother, Bennie Reed, rode their bicycles to the Voland house in November to steal alcohol, shot to death Richard Voland and shot and stabbed Mary Voland.
Blade Reed faces nine charges as a juvenile, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and burglary.
Bennie Reed also faces murder and other charges.
The waiver hearing has not been rescheduled, according to the Brown County Prosecutor’s office.
