Nancy Nixon, 83, Brown County

Nancy Winterrowd Nixon, 83, passed away at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville May 6, 2014.

She was born in Indianapolis July 10, 1930, to Victor and Irene Milnor Winterrowd. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. She retired from Warren Central High School as a teacher’s secretary.

Nancy married Robert Nixon in 1950 in Indianapolis. She was active with the Brown County Humane Society, Bean Blossom Boosters, Friends of the Library, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a library volunteer, a former board member of the Brown County Historical Society and a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom.

Nancy is survived by three daughters, Kate Eikenberry of Fishers, Amy Nixon of Morgantown and Nora Gatton of Indianapolis. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Tussey; and her husband, Robert.

Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

There will be no services, per the family’s wishes.

The family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Brown County Health & Living Community.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Brown County Humane Society, 128 State Road 135, Nashville, IN 47448.
