James 'Jim' Kennett, 54, Morgantown

James E. “Jim” Kennett, 54, passed away Wednesday evening, April 9, 2014, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown.

He was born in Indianapolis Oct. 12, 1959, to his parents, Charles M. and Beverly A. (Hercamp) Kennett. Jimmie was a 1978 graduate of Indian Creek High School. He worked as the Morgantown deputy town marshal from 1983 to 1994 and went on to be the owner and operator of Jemini Construction Company in Morgantown from 1994 to 2008.

Jim was a member of the Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church in Morgantown and was a past member of the Morgantown Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed umpiring Little League Baseball and girls softball for many years. Jim also enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, hunting, working in his garden and farming.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly A. Kennett of Morgantown; daughter, Olivia Kennett of Carmel; and siblings, Rick A. (Linda) Kennett of Brookville, Ohio, Brian M. (Judith) Kennett of Morgantown and Linda D. (Gary) Satter of Trafalgar.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Aaron T. Kennett.

The Rev. Matt Satter will conduct a funeral service Monday, April 14 at 1 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends can call from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgantown.
