James “Ben” Bennett Hatchett, 86, Nashville

James “Ben” Bennett Hatchett, 86, of Nashville, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Brown County to Bertie Hatchett and Ina Woods Hatchett. He was retired from Cummins Engine. After his retirement, Ben became a self-employed farmer and was an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his son, Bennett Brady Hatchett of Nashville; two daughters, Lisa Williams (husband, Wilbur Brent Williams) and Anita Miller, both of Bloomington; four grandchildren; two brothers, Keith and David Hatchett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Fay Marie Hatchett; a daughter, Yvonne Hatchett; and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North.  Burial will follow in Elkinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, April 7 at the funeral home.
