Robert William 'Bob' Muench, Jr., 67, Brown County

Robert William "Bob" Muench Jr., 67, Brown County, passed away at Bloomington Hospital Friday, March 21, 2014, with his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law by his side.

Born July 27, 1946, in Blue Island, Ill., he was son of the late Robert and Lois (Haws) Muench.

Bob and his wife, Joyce, lived in Oak Park, Ill., for more than 30 years. They were residents of Brown County for the past 11 years. Bob attended New Life Community Church.

A design draftsman, Bob worked for Otis Elevator in Bloomington for three years, retiring in 2010. In the past, he worked at Stewart-Warner Electronics and Hewlett-Packard. He studied photography at Oakton Community College and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and DeVry University, Chicago campus.

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Muench of Brown County; three sons, Todd Muench of Chicago, Branden (Anna) Muench of Bloomington and Ryan (Heather) Muench of Greenwood; two stepgrandchildren, Christian and Grace; and a sister, Susan Muench.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at New Life Community Church, 1450 State Road 135 North, with the Rev. Tim Conboy officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Cremation is planned at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bob's widow, Joyce Muench, and dropped off at New Life Church.
