Donna Pearl Crouch, 74, Morgan County

Donna Pearl Crouch, 74, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Feb. 27, 2014, at Morgantown Health Care-Inn. She was a lifelong resident of Morgan County.

Donna was born March 24, 1939 in Morgan County, to the late Ernest Lee and Agnes (Eggers) Crouch.  She was a 1957 graduate of Martinsville High School and went on to help her father with the family-owned business, Crouch's Scavenger Service, in Martinsville. She retired in 1976 as co-owner and operator of Crouch’s Scavenger Service. Donna also was an Avon representative in her younger years.

Donna was a member of Highland Creek Baptist Church in Martinsville and a member of the Morgantown Senior Center. She enjoyed working puzzles, collecting cookbooks, bells and videos. Donna also enjoyed reading "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and watching old movies.

Donna is survived by her caregiver, LuMar Griggs of Martinsville, and was preceded in death by her companion, Robert “Bob” Afflerbach, who passed away Feb. 6, 2013. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith–Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
