Betty Jean (Niehoff) Cravens, 68, Martinsville

Betty Jean (Niehoff) Cravens, 68, Martinsville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014.

She was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Rushville to William and Thelma (Leising) Niehoff.

Betty was a retired registered nurse. She was a 1964 graduate of Milroy High School in Milroy. She attended Marian College and was a graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Desert Rose and the Good Shepherd Clinic.

Survivors are her husband, R. Stephen Cravens, whom she married Feb. 14, 1970; son, Matthew Cravens and wife Cristine of Mason, Ohio; daughters, Angela Wells and husband Christopher and Rachel Cravens all of Cincinnati, Ohio; siblings, Ralph Niehoff, Marilyn Moeller, Edna Knecht and Ruth Battreall; and grandchildren, Benjamin Cravens, Nicholas Cravens and Raegan Wells.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McLary Road, Nashville, with Father Eric Augenstein officiating. Visitation will be at Costin Funeral Chapel Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church one hour before Mass. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
