Betty Irene Brand, 82, Bloomington
Betty Irene Brand, 82, Bloomington, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after living a full life.

She was born July 15, 1931, to Albert and Arlene (Hillenburg) Lucas in Brown County. She married Bicel F. Brand Feb. 11, 1950.

She worked as a final and relief inspector for RCA in Bloomington and retired after 35 years of service.

She is survived by a son, Dale (Kristi) Brand of Bloomington; Chris (Cindi) Brand of Mitchell; a brother, Ed (Phyllis) Lucas of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Paula Brand of Brooklyn, Mich.; and sister-in-law, Sheila Lucas of Story; eight grandchildren, Brandy Van Hoy, Chance and Cam Houchin, Brittany Stewart, Heather, Bailey, Alexis and Avery Brand; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bicel; two daughters, Becky Brand and Brenda Houchin; a son, Kevin Brand; a grandson, David Brand; two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Jack Lucas.

Funeral services for Betty will be at noon Wednesday, Feb 19, at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old Highway 37. The reverends Ken Ransom and Tom Kammell will preside. Pallbearers will be Dale, Chris and Avery Brand, Chance and Cam Houchin and Stacy VanHoy. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bicel, in Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington.
