Michael Christopher Vogt, 51, Indianapolis

Michael Christopher Vogt, 51, Indianapolis, passed away in his sleep at his home the weekend of Feb. 7, 2014.

Mike was born in Dover, Del., Dec. 28, 1962. He graduated from Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar and continued on to receive a bachelor's degree in computer science from Indiana University.

Mike spent his entire adult life working as a systems analyst, primarily in client implementation and training, most recently at Fuji Medical Systems, and at Xerox prior to that. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, being an early adopter of the newest technology, being an adopted member of many different families and friend and uncle to his own niece and nephew. Mike was a former member and volunteer for the Indianapolis Mens Chorus, former board member of the IU GLBT Alumni Association and regular volunteer for the Indiana Youth Group.

Mike is survived by his mother, Carol Ruffin of Nashville; brother, Scott (Connie) Vogt of Frankfort, Ill.; nephew and niece, Alexander and Alyssa Vogt.

A tribute service will be conducted at Flanner and Buchanan, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave. Broad Ripple, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.
