Kay L. Hudson, 81, Ellettsville

Kay L. Hudson, 81, of Ellettsville, passed away  Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital from an apparent heart-related illness.

Kay was born in Bloomington June 18, 1932 to the late Vern and Lillian “GeGe” (Smith) Trotter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hudson; and son, Tad Hudson.

Survivors include brothers, Tom and John Trotter; children, Elaine (David) Stalcup, Sandy (Craig) Matlock, Steve (Connie) Hudson, and Greg Hudson; grandchildren, Mike Stalcup, Erin Fowler, Todd Liford, Ben Ayers, Sam Hudson and Leslie Hudson; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends she referred to as “extended family”.

Kay was a self-employed seamstress for 54 years. She was a past member of the Reeves Club, Eastern Star, and the Monroe County Fall Festival where she was known for her comical role in the Kickapoo Medicine Show. Kay was a beautiful lady inside and out who enjoyed people. She will be sadly missed by all who called her Mom, Sis, Gram or Friend.

Funeral services for Kay were conducted Jan. 21 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Brother John Baker officiating.  Burial followed at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends visited with the family and an Order of the Eastern Star service was performed Jan 20 at the funeral home.
