Gladys L. Shelly, 85, Columbus

Gladys L. Shelly, 85, Columbus, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Brown County Health & Living Community.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16,  at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street, Columbus, with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends can call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Dec. 16.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Flanner & Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mrs. Shelly was born in Indianapolis Nov. 3, 1928, daughter of Francis and Dorothy Cummings Stark. She married Lawrence C. Shelly June 26, 1946. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1985.

Survivors include her children, Lawrence Shelly of Seymour, Sharon (Jerry) McCray of Columbus, Dale (Debbie) Shelly of Brown County, Debbie (Ron) Pelley of Indianapolis, and Mindy (Terry) Johnson of Martinsville; a brother, Floyd Stark of Indianapolis; sisters, Georgia Carillo of Crawfordsville and Evelyn Mead of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; three sisters; and a grandson, James C. Shelly.
