Hezekiah Henderson, 89, Columbus

Hezekiah Henderson, 89, of Columbus, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Mr. Henderson retired from Arvin Industries after 40 years service. He was a member of Seventh Street Church of God, National Campers and Hikers Association and Good Sam Camping Club.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 11 at Hathaway-Myers Chapel, Columbus, with the Rev. Allen Henderson and Brother Jerry Ballard officiating. Calling was before the service Dec. 11. Burial took place at Garland Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Gideon Society.

Born in Brown County June 7, 1924, Mr. Henderson was son of Alva "Ginseng" and Alice Deckard Henderson. He married Norma Jean Herring in July of 1948. She preceded him in death. He married Bonnie Davis Sept. 12, 1969; she also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary A. (Bob Collins) Henderson of Mitchell; sons, Billy K. (Carol) Henderson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Tommy D. Henderson of Bloomington; a brother, Ollen (Lillian) Henderson of Morgantown; a sister, Rosie Adams of Columbus; grandchildren, Billy M. Henderson of Seymour, Jonathan (Tricia) Henderson of Osgood, David (Mavey) Henderson, Jessica (Daniel) Taylor and Alva (Sara) Henderson, all of Bloomington; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brothers, Otis and George Henderson; and a sister, Edna Davis.
