...FIRST WINTER STORM OF THE SEASON EXPECTED...
.A FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL SINK THROUGH THE AREA EARLY THIS MORNING. A
SERIES OF DISTURBANCES MOVING ALONG THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY
BEGINNING LATER THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY WILL RESULT IN
SIGNIFICANT WINTRY PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE AREA. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE TONIGHT WITH SOME LIGHT ICING OVER
SOUTHERN COUNTIES AS WELL. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE
EXPECTED ON FRIDAY. THE HIGHEST SNOW TOTALS WILL LIKELY BE
ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF CENTRAL INDIANA.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO MIDNIGHT EST FRIDAY NIGHT. THE WINTER
STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* ACCUMULATIONS: WIDESPREAD 5 TO 7 INCHES OF COMBINED SNOW AND
SLEET WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS. A LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATION
AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
* TIMING: A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BEGIN
THIS EVENING...WITH PRECIPITATION BECOMING HEAVIER AND
TRANSITIONING TO ALL SNOW EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. SIGNIFICANT SNOW
WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY FRIDAY...TAPERING OFF FRIDAY
EVENING.
* FORECASTER CONFIDENCE: HIGH. WHILE SOME UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS
WITH REGARDS TO THE SPECIFIC LOCATION OF THE HEAVIEST
SNOWFALL...EXPECT MIXED WINTRY PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE TO ALL
SNOW EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. SNOW MAY BE LOCALLY HEAVY AT TIMES ON
FRIDAY...WITH 5 TO 7 INCHES LIKELY ACROSS THE WARNING AREA. A
