Floyd Earl Sprague Jr., 78, Franklin

Floyd Earl Sprague Jr., 78, Franklin, formerly of Columbus, entered eternal life at 2:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at the Franklin United Methodist Home.

Mr. Sprague was born April 24, 1935 in Columbus, son of the late Floyd Earl and Mildred Stigdon Sprague.

He married Margaret P. Bloom Sept. 2, 1955 in Columbus; she preceded him in death Feb. 6, 2012.

Mr. Sprague retired from Cummins Engine Company where he was a computer programmer.

He was a member of The Rock Church in Columbus. He was an avid fisherman, a Bass Master and motorcyclist, and he enjoyed photography and working on computers.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Sprague will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St., Columbus, with Rev. Brian L. Buterbaugh officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Private inurnment will take place in Garland Brook Sunrise Garden Chapel Mausoleum Thursday, Nov. 14.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Sprague is survived by a son, Mark (Lori) Sprague of Columbus; two daughters, Susan (Phil) Ketring of Edinburgh, and Kathy (Darren Burch) Sprague of Columbus; two brothers, Bob (Linda) Sprague of Columbus, and Michael Sprague of Brown County; two sisters, Carol (Bill) Foster of Seymour, and Saundra (Bob) Grissom of Florida; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Bott of Franklin, Ashley Newman, Justin and Jason Sprague, all of Columbus; and six great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife of 56 years, Mr. Sprague was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Sprague; and three brothers, Norman, Delbert and Jim Sprague.
