Mary M. (French) Sheeks, 89, Indianapolis

Mary M. (French) Sheeks, 89, Indianapolis, passed away quietly Monday morning, Sept, 9, 2013 at Rosegate Village Health Care Center.

Mary was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Darlington, Wisc., to the late Everett and Anna (Pitts) French. She was a 1941 graduate of Darlington High School in Darlington, Wisc. and went on to marry, Ralph H. Sheeks  March 24, 1946 in Louisville, Ky.  He preceded her in death May 20, 2004, after 58 loving years.

Mary was employed as a hearing aid technician with Beltone Hearing Aid Center in Indianapolis for 27 years, retiring in 1962. She was a member of AARP, OASIS and Greenwood Christian Church. 

Mary is survived by a sister, Ruth Niggemann of Murrieta, Calif.; caregiver, Lyle Pettigrew of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Brown and Marita Petersen; and a brother, Robert French.

The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Knott Cemetery in Bedford. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
