Genoveva 'Kinina" Perales, 70, Mercedes, Texas

Genoveva "Kinina" Rivera Perales, 70, of Mercedes, Texas, died at 1:50 p.m. Aug. 20, 2013. She retired to Texas, but had been a lifelong resident of Indiana and lived in Nashville for almost 25 years before moving to Indianapolis in 1990.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1942, in Mercedes to Jesus Maria Rivera and Josefina Vasquez. Genoveva was the mother of one child, Margie Perales Wilson, but raised another daughter, Cynthia Perales.

As residents of Brown County, Genoveva worked with her husband Guillermo (Memo) Perales at Kirt’s Garage on state road 135 for many years. Brown County was their home for a long time.

Genoveva is survived by her daughter, Margie (Calvin) Wilson; brothers and sisters, Ove (Eugenia) Rivera, Maria (Jose) Medelez, Roberto Flores, Johnny January, Mary Jane (Juan) Morales, Sylvia (Benito) Guerra-Hernandez, Jesus Rivera Jr., Paula Flores, Lorenzo Rivera, Seferino Rivera, Delfina R. Villa, Marina R. Jimenez, Leonardo Rivera, Alicia R. Casas, Criselda R. Hernandez, Olga L. R. Hinojosa, Ruben Rivera, Raul Rivera, Dora E. R. Marquez and Reyna M.R. Villareal. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Services will be conducted Aug. 31, 2013 at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1224 Laurel St., Indianapolis, IN 46203. Calling hours will be from noon to 6 p.m., and the memorial service will be at 4 p.m.
