Sue A. Lain, 62, Columbus

Sue A. Lain, 62, Columbus, passed from this life at 7:42 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at her home.

A homemaker, Mrs. Lain had been a ward clerk at Bartholomew County Hospital and currently was employed at Help at Home in Seymour.

She was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church, ARC of Bartholomew County and the National Wildlife Federation, and was a volunteer with Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators.

Sue's hobbies included flower gardening, reading and doing needlework.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington St., Columbus, with the Rev. Larry Jackman officiating. Family and friends can call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. A reception will follow the committal service at the cemetery in the Fellowship Hall at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators or Autism Society of Indiana.

Born in Columbus Oct. 20, 1950, Sue was daughter of E. Roy and B. Ruth Fox Rudolph. She married Tom A. Lain Jan. 10, 1970.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bradley Lain of Columbus; a brother, Donald (Resa) Rudolph of Jackson County; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lain was preceded in death by her parents.
