Dr. Christopher William Galbreath, 52, New Whiteland

Dr. Christopher William Galbreath, 52, New Whiteland, passed away at his residence Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, surrounded by his family.

Chris was born May 15, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Bill and Carol (Graft) Galbreath. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving his country from 1984 - 1990. He married Dawn Smith Oct. 25, 2000, in Indianapolis. He graduated from Purdue University in 1996 with a doctor's of veterinary medicine with high honors.

Chris had a passion for caring for animals and was honored to be part of the Bean Blossom Animal Clinic family for six years. He cherished time with his family and loved fishing with his son, Joshua. He enjoyed true worship and serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Galbreath; son, Joshua L.T. Galbreath of New Whiteland; step-daughters, Hannah Johnson of New Whiteland and Mariah Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother, Carol Galbreath of Winchester; father, Bill Galbreath of Richmond; and brother, Jeremy Galbreath of Perth, Australia.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17,  at Grace Assembly of God Church, 6822 U.S. Hwy. 31 North, Whiteland. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a college savings account has been established for Joshua; donations can be made payable to Edward Jones Investments with Joshua Galbreath in the memo line and mailed to 502 Main St., Beech Grove, IN 46107.

Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
