Earl Lee Stewart, 62, Heltonville

Earl Lee Stewart, 62, of Heltonville, went to be with the Lord at 5:40 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. Earl passed away after a two-year battle with cancer.

Earl was born Jan. 16, 1951, in Sidney, Ohio, and was raised in Bloomington. He was son of Wendell and Thelma (Hillenburg) Stewart.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had retired from Manchester Tank in Bedford with 35 years of service. He was a member of New Paynetown Pentecostal Church. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; deer hunting; spending time working on the farm; and hanging out with the guys he worked with, who were like family to him. His favorite time was family pizza night on Saturdays.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Teresa (Eads) Stewart; their son, Earl Stewart Jr. (wife, Robin); daughter, Jennifer (Stewart) Todd (fiance, Jamin Thomas), all of Heltonville; his son, Joe Crum (wife, Tiffany) of St. Johns, Mich.; and his daughter, Stacy (Reeves) Smith (husband, Kelly) of Nashville. Also surviving are his brother, Melvin Stewart (wife, Liz) of Bloomington; sisters, Doreeta Lucas (husband, Ron) and Alberta Skinner (companion, Don Gerth), both of Seymour; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his birth mother, Delia Haynes; and sister, Ruth Gibson, both of Sidney, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and birth brothers, James Haynes, Harold Hall, and Bobby Harris.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 and 12-2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Funeral Chapel with Sister Cheryl Crum officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
