Rachel R. Rigney, 98, Franklin

Rachel R. Rigney, 98, Franklin, passed away July 27, 2013.

She was born Dec. 24, 1914 in Kentucky to the late Avie and Daisy (Sanders) Morris. She married Claud Rigney May 5, 1972; he survives.

She is also survived by daughters, Pam Helkema, Brenda (John) Holmes; son, Randall (Debbie) Rigney; son-in-law, Larry Helkema; grandchildren, Lauri Ann Kritzer, Patti Rzeszut, and Bryan Marsh; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Morris.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vincent O. Rice; son, Gary Rigney; three brothers; and a sister.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Franklin United Methodist Community, Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin.  Friends can call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Rachel will be laid to rest in Pellville Cemetery in Pellville, Ky.

Memorial contributions are suggested to New Life Baptist Church, 751 S. Nineveh Rd., Franklin, IN 46131.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Vandivier-Tudor Chapel.
