Lindsey Hatheway, 83, Sweetwater Lake

Lindsey N. Hatheway, 83, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1929, in Yonkers, NY, to Merrick and Rena O. Hatheway. 

Lindsey served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and graduated from Muskingum University in Ohio. He retired from Indiana Insurance Company as an underwriter. 

Lindsey was a longtime member of Castleton United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family at his cabin at Sweetwater Lake in Brown County. His hobbies were gardening, woodworking and working with his model trains.

Visitation will be Friday, July 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, with the funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m.

Lindsey is survived by his children, Susan Martin (Mike), Linda Dormann and Andrew Hatheway (Delynn); grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah and Chris Martin, Micah Dormann (Rachel), Abigail Dormann, Anna Dormann, Joshua Hatheway (Beth); and great-grandson, Merrick Hatheway.

Lindsey’s parents; wife, Joyce Hatheway; and grandsons, Jonathan Dormann, Jacob Dormann and Tyler Hatheway preceded him in death.
