William H. Eastwood, 89, Nashville

 

William H. Eastwood, 89, Nashville, passed away Monday afternoon, April 29, 2013 at  Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

William was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Fulton to the late Frank and Leota (Stark) Eastwood.  He married Martha L. (Darling) Eastwood on Dec. 2, 1944 in Lafayette. She preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2012, after 68 devoted years of marriage. William was a self-employed brick and stone mason in Lafayette and retired in 1978 after 30 years of service. His hobbies included restoring muzzle loaders and Model - T cars. William was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Martinsville. .

He is survived by four daughters, June Hutchison of Bloomington, Jo Ann Clephane of Morgantown, Patricia Huffman of Martinsville and Leota Hudson of Franklin; four sons, William M. Eastwood of Crossville, Tenn., Robert E. Eastwood of Anderson, Wesley S. Eastwood of Columbus and Michael A. Eastwood of Nashville. He will be remembered by his brother, Donald Eastwood of Logansport; thirty-eight grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by a son, David B. Eastwood; and four brothers, Arthur, Willard, Carl and Homer Eastwood.

A gathering to celebrate William’s life will take place Sunday, May 19 from 1-3 p.m. at his residence, 5434 Three Notch Road, Nashville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
