Debra L. Brock, 61, Taylorsville

Debra L. Brock, 61, Taylorsville, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her home.

Debra was a member of Community Church of Columbus. She was a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing and a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing sorority. She worked 11 years as a clinical nurse specialist in oncology at IU Medical Center and 11 years as a family nurse practitioner at Nashville Family Medicine before retiring in 2006. Debra loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral service was conducted Wednesday, May 1 at Community Church of Columbus with Pastor Chuck Coleman officiating. Calling was Tuesday, April 30 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and at the church before the service Wednesday. Entombment  took place at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or to myeloma research through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Born in Columbus May 10, 1951, Debra was daughter of William E. and Phyllis J. Snyder. She married Ron Brock July 12, 1969.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Phyllis (Wilbur) Snyder of Columbus; sons, Jeff and Jared (Megan) Brock of Columbus; brothers, Michael Turpin and Terry Snyder, both of Brown County; a sister, Anita (Bob) Brown of Columbus; grandchildren, Logan , Larson and Noah Brock; a great-grandson, Bryar Brock; her mother-in-law, Rose Voelz of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Barbara Abner of Columbus; an aunt, Betty Roup of Taylorsville; a cousin, Gary Roup of Taylorsville; a nephew,  Brian (Sherry) Snyder; and nieces, Misty Thomas, Tricia Snyder, Heather (Shane) Cowan, and Kelli (Levi) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her father, William E. Snyder; and an uncle, Harold Snyder.
