Jack Alexander Galloway, 83, Wolcottville

Jack Alexander Galloway, 83, of Oliver Lake, Wolcottville, passed peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, April 11, 2013, in his home.

He has lived at Oliver Lake since 1992, coming from Brown County, where he had resided for 33 years. Jack honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an electrician for Huff Electric. He helped build the Brown County Inn and stayed on with them as their chief electrician.

Mr. Galloway was a Blue Mason with Masonic Lodge Post #135 and a 32nd degree mason with the Murat Shrine. He was a member of VFW Post 1355 in Sturgis, Mich., and the LaGrange American Legion Post 215.

He was born April 18, 1929, in Chicago to Victor and Doris (Alexander) Galloway. On Sept. 4, 1959, in Bloomington he married Catherine E. Mosiman.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine E. Galloway of Oliver Lake; a son, Kim Edward Galloway of Jasper; a daughter, Jill Alexandera Galloway of Oliver Lake; two grandchildren, Jessica Christine Galloway of Bloomington and Jacob Edward Galloway of Nashville; and a sister, Janet Marcon of Dyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an aunt, Francis Alexander.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Family, friends and neighbors will always remember Jack’s generosity of spirit, love of a “nice, cold beer”, and sharp sense of humor; he always enjoyed a good laugh.

Since Jack was such a strong family man, in lieu of flowers, please do something special for your family.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
