Man found dead in Bean Blossom Road home UPDATED 6:30 p.m. Friday
Updated on: 04.11.13

Friday 6:30 p.m. UPDATE: Suding's death was heart-related, Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Piper reported. He said no futher investigation will be done.

SPEARSVILLE -- The bodies of a 57-year-old man and three of his dogs were found in a Bean Blossom Road home Wednesday night after a neighbor called police for a welfare check.

Neighbors of Robert Arnold "Bob" Suding Jr. became concerned when they realized they hadn't seen him for three or four weeks and that his vehicle hadn't moved from the driveway. One of them called Brown County Dispatch at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after looking through a window and seeing the dogs.

Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Piper estimated Suding had been dead for two-and-a-half to three weeks. He lived alone, except for the dogs.

Piper is awaiting information from investigators before recording a cause of death. He has spoken with a pathologist and does not plan to seek an autopsy.

How the dogs died was not immediately known. It wasn't likely that they starved, Piper said, and they had access to water in the bathroom. Brown County Animal Control Officer Richard "Woody" Wood said Friday that Animal Control was not involved in the investigation.

Suding has family in Brown County and Chicago. Funeral arrangements are pending.
