Leonard Hardin Jr., 67, Nashville

Leonard Hardin Jr., 67, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a resident of Nashville.

He was born in Grundy, Va., on Jan. 18, 1946 to the late Leonard and Virginia (Stevenson) Hardin Sr. Leonard married Barbara J. (Campbell) Hardin on Jan. 4, 1967 in Jolliet, Ill. She loving survives in Nashville after 46 years of marriage.

Also surviving are his children, Barbara (Bob) Hall of Gipson, Ill. and Patricia (Bob) Johnston of Flat Rock, Mich.; sisters, Rebecca Keluge of Lamont, Ill. and Peggy Blawin of Ill.; a brother, Bill Hardin of Illinois; five grandchildren, Timothy and Tiffany Hardin, Chris and Katie Johnston, and Robbie Burguess.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Landon E. Hardin.

Leonard worked as a mechanic for Amoco Gas Station in Lemont, Ill., from 1981 to 2001. He also worked for Hendrickson Manufacturing as a machine operator for 13 years in Burr Ridge, Ill., where he was also the union steward. Leonard was a member of Full Faith Gospel Church in Brown County. He enjoyed going out to eat, fishing and chewing tobacco. Leonard was a fan of John Wayne and western movies.

The Rev. Jim Hoskins will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 at Faith Full Gospel Church, 6881 State Road 135 in Brown County. Friends can call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith–Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
