Aging & Community Services accepting apps. for elderly nutrition, Title lII-B and C funds

PUBLIC NOTICE/LEGAL NOTICE

Aging & Community Services of South Central Indiana, Inc. will accept proposal packets for Older Americans Act Title Ill-B services for the elderly and persons with disabilities in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties. County allocations are based on a formula that involves population and poverty levels.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration expects to make available no more than $211,066 of Title lII-B of the Older Americans Act funds and $216,848 of Social Services Block Grant funds for local projects in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties. Funding for contracts to providers of in-home, community, access and legal services will be for the contract year July 1, 2013-June 30,2014.

Agencies and organizations interested in applying to provide services for the Title IlI-C elderly nutrition program will be required to provide nutrition services for the five-county area at the level determined by Aging & Community Services. The setting, nutrition education, outreach, assessment of nutritional needs and potential providers must have prior food experience and/or food service production experience. Funds available for the congregate nutrition program are expected to be no more than $253,380 and $128,092 for the homebound meals program.

Applicants for Title lIl-B and Title-C funds may download general information and grant application from the agency website at www.agingandcommunityservices.org. Technical assistance in grant preparation is available upon request. Title lll-B Older Americans Act funds may be requested by any 501(c)3 organization that designs a program specifically to serve persons age 60 or over or persons of any age with disabilities.
