Marie C. Pope, 95, Brown County

Marie C. Pope, 95, passed away at Brown County Health and Living on March 5, 2013.

Born to the late William and Mary(McGee) Nugent in Daugherty, Iowa, Marie lived in Nashville for over 30 years. She was an avid bridge player and owned several properties in Brown County.

Marie is survived by her son, Mick (wife Sally) Pope; grandchildren, Michael Pope and Elizabeth Pope-Wellner; and two sisters, Dorothy Dvorak and Helen Craig.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; three sisters, Rosetta Salzman, Viola Stubblefield and Luella Weaver; and three brothers, Earl, Arthur and Sylvester Nugent.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McLary Road., with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9. Burial will be in Decatur, Ill. at Calvary Cemetery at 1 p.m. CST on Monday, March 11.

Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
