Mabel L. Sisson Frye, 83, of Columbus, formerly of Brown County and Martinsville, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Born Aug. 25, 1929, in Brown County, she was the daughter of Oral and Florence (Bradley) Voland. She was a homemaker but had formerly worked as a salesperson for Zales Jewelry in the Edinburgh Mall and as a hostess at the Brown County Inn. She was an avid Bingo player and loved to babysit her great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Frye, of Columbus; two sons, Albert (Barbara) Sisson, of Columbus and Harold (Cathy)Sisson, of Greenwood; two daughters, Beverly Harvey, of Columbus, and Debra Sisson, of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin Sisson, in 1993; one son, Bruce Sisson; one grandson, Thomas Sisson; three brothers, Howard Voland, Elmo Voland and Elmer Voland; and one son-in-law, Larry Harvey.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.  Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville, with Pastor Gary Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
