Rebecca S. Collins, 65, Columbus

Rebecca S. Collins, 65, Columbus, formerly of Brown County, passed from this life at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Collins had been a homemaker and a home health care provider. She was a longtime member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church and later became a member of Calvary Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Columbus. She was a loving wife and mother, and she was the world's best granny.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.13 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington Street, Columbus, with Pastor David Ison officiating.

Family and friends can call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Christiansburg Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.

Born in Owen County Dec. 5, 1947, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Walter Jacob Gonser Sr. and Edna V. Orman Gonser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Collins of Nashville; daughters, Felicia (Paul) Clawson of Taylorsville, Tammy (Darin) Frazier and Lacinda Wells, both of Columbus; brothers, David Gonser of Morgantown and Eli Gonser of Monrovia; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
