Keith E. Van Winkle, 61, Morgantown

Keith E. Van Winkle, age 61, died Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2013, at his residence in Brown County, surrounded by his loving and supportive family. He was a life-long resident of Morgantown.

Keith was born March 12, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Carl H. and Alice M. (Hickman) Van Winkle. He was a 1969 graduate of Indian Creek High School and held a membership for three years in Future Farmers of America. Keith was employed as a technician for 10 years with Eagle Magnetic Company in Indianapolis prior to his illness.

Keith will be remembered as a brother and friend with a big heart who loved to fish, play euchre, work in his flower garden and can his own homegrown vegetables. Family members fondly remember the great food he made, especially his homemade noodles and raw apple cake. Christmas celebrations continued to be special with Keith always making his mother’s fruitcake.

Keith’s love for his family will be remembered by three children, Michelle Batt of New Castle, Joshua and Jacob Van Winkle, both of Colorado; three brothers, Bruce (Jeanette) and Wayne (Judy) Van Winkle, both of Morgantown and Ross L. Van Winkle of Tonopah, Nev.; a sister-in-law, Susannah Van Winkle of Morgantown; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Keith’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a family celebration of life gathering at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith–Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions can be made in honor of Keith to the Brown County Humane Society, P.O. Box 746, Nashville, IN 47448.

Condolences can be sent to the Van Winkle family at www.meredith-clark.com.
