Steven Wayne Snyder, 64, Franklin

Steven Wayne Snyder, 64, Franklin, passed away at 5:18 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Born in Wabash Jan. 19, 1949, he was son of the late William E. and Margie (Evans) Snyder. Steve graduated from Greenwood High School in 1967, and he married Vicky Leach on Sept. 9, 1967. Steve was an industrial manager with Chrysler Corp. of Indianapolis and Kokomo, retiring in 2008. He attended Bible Holiness Church of Shelbyville. Steve loved golfing, old cars, and he was an avid Civil War buff.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Tonya Snyder.

Steve is survived by his wife, Vicky Snyder of Shelbyville; devoted companion, Sharleen Tharpe of Franklin; daughter, Susan Snyder of Shelbyville; stepchildren, Gary Tharpe of Trafalgar, Cathy Perkins and Bobbi Jo Luttrell, both of Brown County; sister, Sandra B. (Joe) Orlando of Akron, Ohio; two half-brothers, William and James Snyder, both of Paducah, Ky.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
