Buddy “Bud” Clark, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb, 3, 2013, at 9:23 p.m. at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, at the age of 81 years.
Bud was preceded by his parents, Sherman and Tennie (Hensley) Clark of North Vernon; and by his siblings, Huey, Clarence, Jack, Morgan, Herb and Pauline.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice L. (Wise) Clark of Franklin; three children, Paul E. Clark (Elaine) of Fishers, Julia A. Fagg (Reay) of Prairie Creek, and Jon S. Clark of Franklin. He had 6 grandchildren, Brea Hornberger (Doug) of Martinsville, Justin Fagg of Prairie Creek, Kandi L. Clark of Dallas, Texas, Tabitha Chambers (Andy) of Martinsville, Michael Sanders of Franklin, and Chris M. Clark of Lafayette; and nine great-grandchildren.
Bud Clark, born in Greenwood, (1932-2013) spent most of his childhood in Greenwood. He was a graduate of Center Grove High School. After marriage to Janice in 1951, they resided in the Nineveh area. He farmed land in Nineveh, Franklin and a family farm in North Vernon. Bud created his legacy as a farmer and an entrepreneur.
Bud and Janice were most well known as owners of Bud’s Bait and Tackle in Nineveh, for 44 years. He was known by many for his talents, as a farmer in Johnson and Jennings Counties, fur buyer from hunters and trappers in a multi-state area, and selling produce and greenhouse plants. Bud was active in the community supporting various organizations, youth baseball and had a passion for wildlife.

The Reverend Hershel Axsom will conduct a service Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin.
Friends can call Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
