Ben Hoff III, 61, Nashville

Ben S. Hoff III, 61, died unexpectedly at his home in Brown County Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

He was born in Culver City, Calif., to Ben S. Hoff Jr. and Robbie (Brown) Hoff of Atascadero, Calif.

Ben had a successful law practice in Nashville for 20 years and was the former Brown County prosecutor, attorney for the Town of Nashville and Brown County public defender. He was also past president of Brown County Kiwanis and a former member of the Brown County Masonic Lodge.

Ben enjoyed horseback riding, golf, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with his wife and his dog, “Adnil.”

Ben is survived by his wife, Linda Marie Hoff; son, Ben S. Hoff IV; daughter, Kaitlin Gish; stepdaughters, Sundi Sipes, Holli Gredy and Kelli Suding; one stepson, Ryan Hilbert; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister, Mary Beth Alvord of Templeton, Calif.

Ben loved Brown County and always gave back to the community of Nashville.

Friends can call Friday, Feb. 8 from noon-3 p.m. with the funeral service officiated by L.D. Campbell following at 3 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
