Junnie Nichols, lifelong resident of Trafalgar, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 23, 1950, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin to Edward and Margaret (Ford) Nichols. She was a 1968 graduate of Indian Creek High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1972 and her master’s degree in library sciences from Indiana University Purdue University Columbus in 1975.
She taught third and fifth grade at Nineveh Elementary School from 1972-1976, and from 1976-2010 (for 34 years) she was the librarian for the Eminence Community School Corporation.
She enjoyed attending musical shows in Nashville. Junnie was a regular patron of the Nashville Follies and its successor shows where she had many friends, both among the performers and the audience.
Survivors include her sister, Gracie Marlatt (Frank) of Rush County; nephews, Jim Marlatt (Diana) and Brian (fiancé Amy Bare), all of Rush County; a niece, Freda Ipock (James) of Germany; and two great-nephews, Mason Moyes and Aaron Moyes, both of Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A service will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. at Trafalgar United Methodist Church, 375 Pleasant St. in Trafalgar. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Lick Spring Cemetery, 2013 S. 750 South, Trafalgar.
Swartz Family Church and Chapel – Funeral and Cremation Services in Trafalgar is handling the arrangements.
