David Eastwood, 51, Nashville

David B. Eastwood, 51, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a resident of Nashville.

David was born Dec. 21, 1961, in Beech Grove to William H. and Martha L. (Darling) Eastwood.

David was a 1981 graduate of Brown County High School. He was employed as a Union Electrician for the past 15 years with the Indiana Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 481, working mainly at Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis. Prior to that, he worked for Indy Automotive as a technician in Indianapolis.

David was a member of the Martinsville Seventh Day Adventist Church and a proud member of the National Rifle Association. David was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and especially helping care for his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, fishing, spelunking, camping, hiking, bird watching, being in the woods with his dog, “Tigger,” and working in the flower gardens with his mother. David’s family fondly remembers his creative skills in the kitchen where most of his food creations never had a name, but everyone loved to eat them. His hobbies included raising chickens and goats. David will be remembered for his special compassion for helping injured animals of any kind.

David will be missed by his father, William H. Eastwood of Nashville; two children, Alicia Eastwood and Douglas Eastwood, both of Greenwood; good friend, Angela Eastwood of Greenwood; four sisters, June Hutchison of Bloomington, Jo Ann Clephane of Morgantown, Patricia Huffman of Martinsville and Leota Hudson of Franklin; four brothers, William H. Eastwood of Crossville, Tenn., Robert E. Eastwood of Anderson, Wesley S. Eastwood of Columbus and Michael A. Eastwood of Nashville; and three grandchildren, Alona, Andra and Jett.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha L. (Darling) Eastwood.

The Rev. Charles Willis will conduct a funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends can call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be sent in honor of David to Amazing Facts, P.O. Box 1058 Roseville, CA 95678; or to the Brown County Humane Society, P.O. Box 746, Nashville, IN 47448.

Expressions of caring and kindness can be made to the Eastwood family through www.meredith-clark.com.
