Arnold Gregory, 80, Morgantown

Arnold L. Gregory, 80, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Morgantown.

Arnold was born in Indianapolis Jan. 25, 1932, to Warner L. and Norma B. (Ramsey) Gregory. He served his country in the United State Navy during the Korean War. Arnold married Dorothy M. (Merriman) Gregory April 12, 1953. She preceded him in death Dec. 6, 1991, after 38 loving years.

Arnold retired in 1988 as a machinist and engineer for Schwitzer Turbo Charges in Indianapolis after 30 years of service. He was a fan of football and basketball and traveling. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Gary L. (Roenna) Gregory of Morgantown, Theresa (Daniel) Hiatt of Greenwood and Kevin L. (Linda) Gregory of Morgantown. Arnold will be remembered by his five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carolyn (Virgil) Meeks of Lyman, S.C., Norma Nevils of Cookeville, Tenn., Richard (Shirley) Gregory of Belton, Mo., Donald Gregory of Palm City, Fla., Larry (Pat) Gregory of Dallas, Ore., Melvin (JoAnn) Gregory of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and Thomas Gregory of Morgantown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a daughter, Sherry Walker.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends can call from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
