Don Hardwick, 65, Franklin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 26, 1947, in Harriman, Tenn., to Arlis G. and Bessie (Hamby) Hardwick. He married Sue Ellen (Kirts) Hardwick on Dec. 19, 1971, in Nashville, Ind.; she survives. Mr. Hardwick had been a tool and die maker for Arvin Industries in Franklin and Ogleville for 34 years and then working for Overton Carbide Tool and Die Engineers in Franklin for seven years, retiring in 2007. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Deer Valley Golf course where he was a member of the men’s league. A Vietnam War veteran, he was a member of Franklin American Legion Post. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, a man of the Lord and was strong in his faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen; daughter, Krissy S. Hardwick; grandson Tully Hardwick-McKee; and father, Arlis G. Hardwick, all of Franklin; brother, Daryl Hardwick (Deborah) of Frankfort, Ill., an aunt, Rema Jong of Greenwood; a niece, Linsey Hardwick of Frankfort, Ill.; and several cousins.

The Rev. John Young and Doug Weddle will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Monday Jan. 21, at Swartz Family Community Mortuary & Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends can call Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
