Donald Lee Denson Sr., 67, of Nineveh, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born May 15, 1945, in Liberty, Ky., to Lillian (Alstott) Sewell of Edinburgh and the late Leerow Denson. He married Wanda (Fluharty) Denson on Jan. 3, 2013; she survives.
Other survivors include his children, Donald Lee (Shaune Gay) Denson Jr. of Nineveh, Ronald Dale (Lisa) Denson and Karen Lee Devla, both of Edinburgh, David Wayne Denson and Pamela Denice (Tom) McFaran, both of Columbus, Billy Ray Denson of Plainfield, Jess Edwin Briney and Melissa Jane (Donnie) Briney, both of Iowa; three siblings, Ronnie Dale (Susan) Denson and Ladena Mae (Fenton) Tungett, both of Edinburgh, and Norma Jean (Jim) Merchant of Franklin; stepfather, Bill Sewell of Edinburgh; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Randall D. Denson.
He retired as owner/operator of Don’s Body Shop and Nineveh Auto Sales. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars and was a fan of auto racing, particularly the Earnhardts.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday Jan. 17, at WhoSoEverWill Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, with the Revs. Lewis Burton and Larry Biddle officiating.
Visitation hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 16, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Burial will take place at Nineveh Cemetery.
