Elsie Rebecca “Becky” Burns, 56, of Morgantown

Elsie Rebecca “Becky” Burns, 56, of Morgantown, passed from this life into the loving arms of her Lord at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

Becky was the youngest of seven daughters born to the late Jim and Elsie Marie (Martin) Hunt. She was born in Martinsville on Sept. 18, 1956. She lived most all of her life in Morgan County and worked a short time during the 1990s at Morgan County Hospital in Martinsville.

She was a dedicated and loving wife and homemaker who dearly loved and appreciated her family and the Lord. She loved to bring a smile to those around her and was known as “Sissy the Clown”, volunteering her talents and charm at Morgantown Nursing Home and at other special events. She also had a passion for animals, fishing, music, and hot rods and enjoyed frequenting car shows with her husband, Jack.

Her big-hearted, playful being will be sadly missed by all who knew her, including her husband, Jackie L. Burns of Morgantown, whom she married on Nov. 18, 2000; her six sisters, Mary Lee (husband, John) Ranard, Sarah Jane (husband, David) Townsend, both of Martinsville, Brenda Joyce (husband, Jim) Nicholson of Bloomington, Charlene Marie (husband, Delbert) Cooper of Niles, Mich., Cathy Jo (husband, Jim) Forrester of Mooresville and Margaret Ann (husband, Vic) Johnson of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, Jan. 11 from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10-11 a.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center.  Brother Kevin Dyer will conduct a celebration of life service beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, and burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.
