Patrick J. Stalker, 77, Franklin

Patrick J. Stalker, 77, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

Patrick was born July 8, 1935, in Flint, Mich., to Roy and Marcella (Allard) Stalker. He married Janet (Stewart) Thomas in 1996 in Indianapolis. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and an independent truck driver for 20 years. Patrick enjoyed woodworking, animals, kids, crossword puzzles and all sports, even playing semi-pro baseball for some time. Patrick was a volunteer for the American Red Cross disaster services for 17 years, and he was a member of American Legion Post 205 in Franklin and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Brown County.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Stalker of Franklin; and a sister, Shirley Butler of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marcella Stalker.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday Dec. 27 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Franklin. Visitation was before the service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Patrick’s honor to Hope Marie’s Fund Rescue in care of Bargersville Veterinary Hospital, 4253 N. State Road 135, Franklin, IN 46131.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel.
