Just before 9 p.m., firefighters from Brown County (Nashville), Fruitdale and Hamblen departments were called to Brown County State Park for a fire in the laundry building that serves Abe Martin Lodge. According to dispatch traffic, the building is separate from the lodge, across the parking lot. Workers reported smoke and flames coming from gas-powered dryers.
At about 9:05 p.m., officers on scene (who had arrived while firefighters were still en route) reported the fire may be out. Firefighters are continuing to the scene.
9:15 p.m. UPDATE: Brown County (Nashville) Chief "Dak" Kelp is reporting no flames showing from the outside of the building.
9:18 p.m. UPDATE: Hamblen firefighters have been called off the run; Fruitdale firefighters are continuing on non-emergency status.
