Betty J. Bright, 85, of Nashville, passed from this life at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Brown County Health and Living Community.

Born in Brown County July 3, 1927, Mrs. Bright was the daughter of Millard and Dessie Mahan Joy. She married Loren Mark Bright in 1948. He preceded her in death July 5, 2007.

She graduated from Helmsburg High School. She was a homemaker and a clerk in several shops in Nashville over the years.

Surviving relatives include her children, Steve (Esther) Bright of Hanover and Kathy Bright of Nashville; a sister, Margaret Allender of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Frances Gommel of Taylorsville and Donna Bright of Florida; grandchildren, Kelly Bright Quackenbush, David Bright, Debby (Shan) Survance and Daniel Bright; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years; an infant brother, Lee Joy; a brother, James Joy and sisters, Maxine Hall and Wilma Stewart.

In keeping with Mrs. Bright's wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Unity Baptist Cemetery near Bean Blossom at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association, Gideon's International or the donor's choice of charities.
