Delpha Hall passed peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father on Nov. 28, 2012, at Brown County Health and Living Center.

Being one of nine children, she was born in Owen County on March 27, 1914, to Oscar and Gertrude (Sims) Fox. In later years she was a homemaker but had previously worked in housekeeping at IU, retiring in 1975. Quilting was her life-long passion, with each piece hand-cut and completely hand-finished. She once won a blue ribbon at the Florida State Fair for one of her beautiful quilts. Bloomington was home for most of her life except for the 10 years lived in LaBelle, Fla., from 1978-1988.

Survivors include a daughter, H. Ann Lawson of Bloomington; a son, Wayne F. Hall of Benton, Ill.; grandchildren, Mary A. (John) Strader, Richard T. (Terri) Lawson, Danny Hall of Bloomington and Kathy Ulber of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Heather M. Maggard and Danny L. McCormick; great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Coleton, and Brody Maggard, Delaney and Caden McCormick, all of Bloomington, and other loved ones including nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel V. Hall; sons, Earl K. “Sonny” and Eugene Hall; granddaughter, Linda Busse; and all eight of her siblings.

A special “thank you” is sent to the efficient and caring staff at Brown County Health and Living Center who took excellent care of Delpha during her stay. The support provided by them, and the ladies from Hospice of South Central Indiana out of Columbus, was very much appreciated by family and friends.

Graveside funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 3, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington with Pastor Allan Lewis officiating. Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with arrangements.
