Helen Mae (Stephanus) Ballard, 78, Morgantown

Helen Mae (Stephanus) Ballard, 78, Morgantown, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2012, at Morgantown Health Care Inn.
Helen was born in Madison Jan. 1, 1934, to William and Ruby (Kidwell) Stephanus. She married Harry Ballard Oct. 30, 1956, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death June 11, 1990. 
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas M. Ballard of Greenwood and David L. Ballard Sr. of Morgantown. She will be remembered by five grandchildren, Cindy Wilborn and David Ballard Jr., both of Morgantown, Rachel Ballard and Sarah Baker, both of Greenwood, Uriah Ballard of Knightstown; and several great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by a son, Paul Fredrick; and two granddaughters, Lori and Dana Lee Ballard.
She retired in 1996 as an assembly worker for Harmon Becker Automotive in Martinsville after 16 years of service. Prior to that, she held the same position at RCA in Indianapolis. Helen enjoyed working in her yard, watching and feeding the birds and cooking for her family. She cherished movie night and going to the park with her grandchildren. Helen collected books and ceramic music angels.
The Rev. Ben Swopes will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends can call from 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
