W. Lincoln Christie, 89, Franklin, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Christie was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Seymour to Watler and Bertha Behrens Christie. After graduating from Columbus High School, he joined the United States Army, serving from 1943 to March 1946 in the European theater.
Mr. Christie worked at Allison Engine Company in Speedway in the aircraft division for 25 years. He served on the Perry Township School Board for eight years and was a member of the Southport Presbyterian Church, serving as a trustee. After retiring from Allison, he lived and worked as a real estate
broker in Brown County for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and was an avid golfer. He and Carol spent a good deal of their retired winters in Bradenton, Fla.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey Christie and Deborah and Rex E. Christie and Dawn; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Carol Ann Case Christie; and sister, Joann
Gebhard.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 24 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory in Indianapolis.
